CFR – Medication (NAL)

This Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) certified course is aimed at rescuers who will also be responsible for administering Naloxone  to a casualty with respiratory depression secondary to known or suspected narcotic overdose.

It will equip participants with the skills and knowledge required to respond to a variety of life-threatening emergencies, including Heart Attack, Cardiac Arrest, Stroke, Choking and narcotic overdose. Each student receives a handout and CPR mask.

Please note, registration with www.hpra.ie as a ‘Listed Organisation’ is required to purchase and store emergency medications.

Content

  • Patient Assessment
  • Recognition of Heart Attack, Stroke, Cardiac Arrest and narcotic overdose.
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Choking
  • Safe administration of Aspirin
  • Safe adminstration of naloxone.
