Many organisations are now choosing to rent equipment instead of buying. Heartsafety Solutions have a range of market-leading AEDs available to rent for as little as €1.50 per day. We can also tailor make a package to best suit your needs.

Why should I rent a defibrillator instead of buying one?

Renting a defibrillator can be a good option for those that only need a defibrillator for a limited amount of time. You can cut the costs of purchasing a defibrillator up front and remove some of the maintenance responsibilities such as replacing and repairing equipment. By renting a defibrillator from Hearts.ie, you can be confident that you are getting a device that is well maintained and up to date.

How long can I rent a defibrillator for?

Do you offer training on how to use a rented defibrillator?

At Hearts.ie, we offer a range of certified courses on how to use automated external defibrillators (AEDs). It is recommended that for safe and effective use of an AED in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest, training should be given to those who are likely to respond. The Irish Heart Foundation recommends that all individuals who might need to use a defibrillator are trained in CPR and the use of an AED. We offer both of these as accredited training courses.

What happens if the rented defibrillator malfunctions during an emergency?

We work hard to maintain the working order of our defibrillators and perform regular functioning tests to minimise the likelihood that a defibrillator malfunctions during response. In the unlikely event that a rented defibrillator does malfunction during an emergency, it is important that the responder stays calm and acts quickly to ensure the safety of the patient. They should stop using the defibrillator and carry out recovery using manual CPR. It is important that you contact us and the manufacturer of the device to report the issue and seek advice.

David established HeartSafety Solutions in 2006 with the aim of improving survival from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). As a former firefighter/ Paramedic, he witnessed too many incidents of SCA where help arrived too late and knew things could be so much better. The following year HeartSafety launched the GAA National Defibrillator programme, which resulted in the placement of AEDs in most towns and villages around Ireland. David is a qualified Paramedic Tutor, Basic Life Support instructor and a member of IOSH having completed a HDip in Health & Safety from UCD.
