CFR – Community

This Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) certified course is aimed at non-medically trained rescuers. It will equip participants with the skills and knowledge required to respond to a variety of life-threatening emergencies, including Heart Attack, Cardiac Arrest, Stroke and Choking.

Each student receives a handout and CPR mask.

Content

  • Patient Assessment
  • Recognition of Heart Attack, Stroke and Cardiac Arrest
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Choking
  • Safe administration of Aspirin

Assessment: 
Skills will be assessed using PHECC’s CFR Community assessment sheets.

Remediation:
 Remediation is performed in line with our Assessment and Remediation Policy. Please contact us for a copy.

Certification:
 Heartsafety Solutions/ PHECC CFR-Advanced Certificate valid for 2 Years.

Considerations: 
Regular refreshment of skills is recommended (at least yearly) to ensure readiness to response to life-threatening emergencies

Materials: 
All participants are supplied with the PHECC Cardiac First Responder manual, PHECC Red Card and a CPR pocketmask each.
